Our Last Day Here

Well, it's our last full day in Gatlinburg.  We're in our room at the hotel.  It was pouring down rain so we're in here waiting it out...watching tv and eating cookies, chips & salsa!  That's our lunch.  We want to have a REALLY good, full last dinner before we head back to Ohio tomorrow.

We've had a good time!  It's been relaxing...free of lots of thinking which is exactly what I needed.  I must admit I've missed work...missed the girls.  But I'm glad we came!  Would you like to hear a little bit about it?  I've got a little time so I'll write!

We drove down Monday morning and I must admit I made pretty good time!  I would have made the 7 hour in trip in about 6 hrs and 15 minutes!  We would have been at our hotel waiting to get checked in if we hadn't run into some serious traffic as we got into Sevierville.  At one point, it took us 15 minutes to move 1.6miles.  Not impressed.  But we were patient...stopped at WalMart (of course) and kept going.  We got here and checked in about 2:45pm.  We got into our room, settled in and then decided to head on downtown.   I love this city!!  It's so beautiful!!!  Busy but beautiful!  Sarah hasn't been here in about 20 years.  It's only been about 6 for me.  We walked in and out of some great shops.  We only bought a few things.  (We knew we had the outlet coming.)  We had dinner at Hard Rock Cafe.  I love that place!!!

This is Sarah and the "strange" server at Hard Rock.  I was taking a pic of Pink (the pic is behind the server) and he apparently thought I was trying to get a pic of him.  So he jumped in for a pic with Sarah.  She's actually trying to stay away from him!  :-)

This is just a picture from The Village.  We didn't walk around it much that night.  We were both getting tired and headed back to our room.  And we slept very well...just like we knew we would!

(This beetle was outside of our room on Tues. morning.  GROSS!)

Yesterday was shopping day!  Once we got up and around, we headed to the Tanger Outlet mall!!  WOO HOO!!!  Nike here I come!  And I walked out of Nike without any shoes.  Terrible I know.  I did walk out with stuff though!

We at at this place called KT's Bar & Grill (I think that was the name).  Look at my steak fries!

It was delicious!!  I must say we haven't eaten anywhere yet that wasn't worth the money and very tastey!

We spent the day at the outlet and then we stopped at The Christmas Place.  It was pretty cool to see...even though it was still like 88 degrees outside!

I decided I wanted some pics of our drive back into Gatlinburg.  Yep and I was driving.  But look at this pic!  I love it!  I'm not a great photographer or anything but I love this one.  I think I may enter this one into our local fair and maybe the photo contest our newspaper does.  Do you think it's good enough for that?  Honestly???

We came back into Gatlinburg and decided to go back downtown.  We looked into a few places and then had dinner at The Mountain Grill.  It was sooooooooooooooo good.  It was the best service we've received!  The server was so awesome!  And the food was delicious!  They had the best jalapeno poppers I've ever had!  Then we did more walking and shopping downtown.

This was our view from The Mountain Grill

We didn't get back to our room til almost 11pm.  Our feet were killing us!!  Along with our backs.  But we had a good time!  This is such a beautiful place!

Today we went to the Aquarium.  I'll post those pics either tonight or after I'm home.  Oh!  And we had a great breakfast at a pancake place just a few blocks from the hotel.  Delicious!  We've been riding the trolley today...to save our feet.  And plus the forecast called for rain.  And just as we were getting off of the trolley at our hotel, it started to pour!!  That's how we ended up chillin in our room.  But we are going to head back out of Gatlinburg to look at some more stores and have one more good dinner before our vacation is over.  We're going to try to have dessert!  Everytime we go somewhere to eat, we say we're getting dessert but we're too stuffed to do it.  So that's our goal tonight!  I have a few more souvenirs to buy too.  Hopefully I can find something good.

OH!!!  And the best part of our vacation...while we were at Hard Rock Cafe on Mon. night...after the scary server jumped in the picture...SARAH ASKED ME TO BE HER MAID OF HONOR AT HER WEDDING!!!!!!!!!  I am soooo honored.  You have no idea!  I even started crying when she asked!  That made this entire trip worth it!!!

OK.  I'm off.  I suppose we should leave this hotel room at some point.  Although, I must admit, this is quite relaxing!!!

New Year, New Me

New year, new me. Who says that? Ok, a lot of people so no offense if you’re one of them.  But I like me. Sure, I’m not perfect. But I don’t want to really change all of me.  So no silly quote like that for me! It is hard to believe that 2019 is here. The older I get, the quicker time flies by.  I do remember being told that when I was a teenager.  Those people were so right.  It feels like yesterday that I was sitting in my quiet house while Johanna was off with friends celebrating the start of 2018.  But that was a year ago.  Today, I’m still sitting in my quiet house but that’s because Karyna is just waking up for the day.   A few years ago, I used to work on videos that would highlight my year.  I loved doing them but they took time.  And that’s time that I don’t have as much of these days.  It’s hard to go through a year of pictures and videos.  Do you know how many pictures I take a year?  My goodness!...

Friday Follow

How come when it's time to do the Friday Follow, I have nothing interesting to say??? Hmmmm...it's been a long week.  Days where things just didn't make sense.  Lots I need to process.  It's possible that all of my thinking will lead to a great post this weekend.  But for now, I just hope all of you new visitors find something interesting to read from other posts here.  I plan to spend this rainy weekend doing some thinking, relaxing, watching movies and checking out new blogs!  Sounds like a good way to spend the weekend, right?  :-)  Thanks for stopping by!

New Cards!!!

So between resting this weekend (cause my allergies kicked my butt...especially yesterday), I worked on making some cards.  It's been SO long since I've actually spent time doing something like this and I LOVE making cards!  So I wanted to share them with you.  I made 20 cards total.  2 each of 10 designs.  So now there's two sets of friendship cards.  I think I'm going to try to sell one set.  Then I think give the other set away.  I'm just not sure how.  Any ideas?  I'm thinking if you leave a comment about the cards you'll be entered to win.  If you buy one set of cards, you'll also be entered to win.  Hows that sound?
