It's kind of been a strange day for me, honestly. I wasn't really into socializing. Not really into talking. Just kind of wanted to keep to myself. But we had a field trip that we were helping with today...which meant 23 schoolagers and 4 other teachers! Plus, part of my job is to talk to people. So I couldn't just sit in silence. I wasn't in a bad mood. Just a quiet one...if that makes sense to anyone.
But I must admit that even though I was pretty quiet, I WAS EXCITED!!! My friend and I are going on a mini vacation! And we're going to Gatlinburg! I've been wanting to go. I love that place. And she hasn't been in like 20 years! (Just 6 for me.) So we're going to go down and spend about 2 1/2 days. I know...that's not a lot but plenty for us. And in all the years I've known her, we haven't ever done anything like this before! It's going to be fun!!! We decided that even if it rains the entire time we're there, the time in the hotel room just talking and hanging out will be worth the trip down! I CAN'T WAIT!!!
That also means that I've got some serious work ahead of me. I've got to work my butt off this weekend and all of next week to make sure everything is done and caught up on for work. And really work ahead and so that I did end up MAJORLY behind when I get back. Plus we have a big finance meeting the week after and rather than rushing around trying to make sure everything is ready and right the week after vacation, I'm getting it done before. So work comes home with me this weekend. But that's ok. Gatlinburg with a great friend is totally worth it! Plus I'm spending tomorrow evening with my Stella Bella tomorrow night (she'll be 4 on Sat) so the whole weekend won't be work!
Also, I've been in my apartment now for almost a year. It will be a year in Aug. And I'm just now getting frames on my wall! I've had my biggest one since last Sept. Tried to get it up on the wall but what we used didn't work. So it's been sitting since then. Then my staff and my best friend bought me a bunch of frames for Christmas. They never went up. Sad, I know. I kept saying I was waiting on a picture and that never happened. But that's ok. The frames went up last night! My friend Tera helped me put them up (mainly cause she's taller than me and thinks I'll seriously injure myself using a hammer). Before, the only wall in my livingroom that had pictures was the wall above my fireplace. But now all of the walls have frames! And there's one in my room. My plan for this weekend (see, it won't be ALL work) is to put my favorite Bible verse (Jeremiah 29:11) above my front door. And I want a friendship or life quote to go in my hallway and something else for my kitchen. Any ideas???? If so, pass them along. I could use the ideas!
