Is it a sign that the day is going to be crazy when you only get 2 1/2 hours of sleep before work? Probably a sign I imagine!
I got up this morning in plenty of time to go to McDonald's before having to be at work at 6:30am...which on 2 1/2 hours of sleep is impressive. But when it's this cold, PopTarts just aren't going to cut it for breakfast. You need something warm!
So I got to work, opened the door to the nursery and it was FREEZING. This is NOT an exaggeration. I turned the light on and realized that someone had opened our window and left it open. The temperature gauge only goes to a little below 60 but I guarantee it was more like in the 20's. I couldn't be in the room without my sweatshirt and coat on. So I decided to get things started before I gave my boss a call. I went to turn on the water, and the pipes are frozen. So after getting the janitor and him taking a look, we realize we may have some problems for the day. As the next hour progressed we realized that because of the pipes freezing, we needed a new faucet and pipes (we've been wanting a new faucet so that wasn't so bad...just didn't like the way it happened). By time 10:00am rollled around though, things just weren't adding up. Through a series of events, a co-worker and I discovered that someone had tried to pull away a mirror we have attached to the wall for the kids to look in. So we had plaster all over the place. And upon further investigation, it looked like someone had pushed the window screen out from the inside. After hearing a few stories of people seeing and noticing strange things in the church over the weekend, nothing adds up but they're starting to wonder if someone was in the building and was in our room. But no one really knows. All we know at this point is that someone did some damage and we have no answers for them. And it made the first 5 hours of our day quite interesting...busy and cold. I wonder what I'll walk into tomorrow....
