"ME" Day

So I designated today as "ME" day.  It was pretty much the plan for today all week!  And miraculously, I stuck with it!  That's impressive for me.  I started that day by having cinnamon toast.  I love cinnamon toast!  Yummy!!  I thought about making a much bigger breakfast...bacon, eggs...but that would require me to clean up and that wasn't going to happen!  It was "ME" day, afterall!

I headed over to friends' house to swim.  They recently just put in a pool but they were gone for the weekend.  So they let me hang out and swim.  I swam last night and then again today!  My plan was to spend the entire early and middle afternoon there.  And I did.  But it rained some taking about an hour and a half of my swim time away.  Rude!!  But that's ok.  I had taken my book and notebooks along with me so I got some reading and writing done.  Total "ME" things!  And once the skies cleared, I enjoyed the coolness and quietness of their pool.  So relaxing!!

I got home...and debated on a nap.  It wasn't that I didn't want one.  It just seemed like watching a movie or something would be just as relaxing.  But I decided to take a nap...figuring I wouldn't sleep long.  HA HA HA!!!  I slept 2 hours!!  That never happens!  Oh, it felt so good!  I could have slept longer but it was already 6:30pm.  I figured I better get up so I'll sleep at some point tonight!

I ordered out for dinner.  Like I said, cleaning up is not what I wanted.  So I ordered my current favorite dish from Applebee's.  The only problem was that I had to go get it.  But Applebee's is worth it!  After dinner, I scrapbooked!  Now, let me explain the scrapbooking opportunity I have at the moment.  My boss (the director at the center I'm the assistant director at) is planning her little girls 2nd birthday in Sept.  We were just talking in the office about it.  She was saying how she wished she had more pics of her little girl printed and had them in cute books for her birthday party.  I volunteered to scrapbook all of her pics.  She laughed at first thinking I was kidding but I wasn't!  So after talking for a few, she decided to let me do it.  I was so excited and so she was!  She wants to pay me but I don't think I'll let her.  The main reason I don't think I'll let her is because I think this is going to open another opportunity for me!  People have asked me a few times about making scrapbooks for them but I really hadn't given it much thought until recently.  The problem is I have no idea how long it would take me, how much to charge a person, or if I can even scrapbook for other people!  So this is the test.  I'm going to keep track of how much time I spend on it.  Along with keeping track of how much I spend on products.  Plus of course I'll take pics of the entire scrapbook.  If people are interested, then it may be something I start!  I also thought about making up premade scrapbooks...so all people have to do is add pictures.  May be something great for the holidays.  What do you guys think???

Anyway!  I got 8 page done tonight.  And I love how they all turned out!  I need to add a saying to one page still but that's it.  I'll post a few pics here and there but I don't want to show it all before her 2nd birthday party.  I will post it all once her party is over in Sept.  I just don't want to ruin the surprise for any of the family who won't see it until the party.  I will post a few things here and there so you can see how easy it really is to scrapbook with Close to My Heart products.  I did 8 pages in 2 hours tonight and it's not because I'm that talented!  Trust me!

I'd love to say that the entire weekend is about me but that's not the case.  I have a birthday party to go to tomorrow.  And I probably should do a few things for work so that I don't get so tied down during the week.  It's the last week for summer at the center.  That means we're getting everything together for fall.  And yes, I'd love to be able to say that we've been working on that slowly all summer...but well, that's just dumb!!!  Christina and I are both procrastinators!  Plus, it's hard to work on fall stuff when you're in the middle of summer activities.  So my hope is to get a few things done for work tomorrow afternoon.  I don't plan to over-do it though.  It is the weekend and I enjoyed just doing stuff for me today.  It may sound selfish but it's the truth.  And don't worry...my "ME" day hasn't ended.  I'm relaxing on the catch watching Catch & Release.  I love this movie!!!!

New Year, New Me

New year, new me. Who says that? Ok, a lot of people so no offense if you’re one of them.  But I like me. Sure, I’m not perfect. But I don’t want to really change all of me.  So no silly quote like that for me! It is hard to believe that 2019 is here. The older I get, the quicker time flies by.  I do remember being told that when I was a teenager.  Those people were so right.  It feels like yesterday that I was sitting in my quiet house while Johanna was off with friends celebrating the start of 2018.  But that was a year ago.  Today, I’m still sitting in my quiet house but that’s because Karyna is just waking up for the day.   A few years ago, I used to work on videos that would highlight my year.  I loved doing them but they took time.  And that’s time that I don’t have as much of these days.  It’s hard to go through a year of pictures and videos.  Do you know how many pictures I take a year?  My goodness!...

Friday Follow

How come when it's time to do the Friday Follow, I have nothing interesting to say??? Hmmmm...it's been a long week.  Days where things just didn't make sense.  Lots I need to process.  It's possible that all of my thinking will lead to a great post this weekend.  But for now, I just hope all of you new visitors find something interesting to read from other posts here.  I plan to spend this rainy weekend doing some thinking, relaxing, watching movies and checking out new blogs!  Sounds like a good way to spend the weekend, right?  :-)  Thanks for stopping by!

New Cards!!!

So between resting this weekend (cause my allergies kicked my butt...especially yesterday), I worked on making some cards.  It's been SO long since I've actually spent time doing something like this and I LOVE making cards!  So I wanted to share them with you.  I made 20 cards total.  2 each of 10 designs.  So now there's two sets of friendship cards.  I think I'm going to try to sell one set.  Then I think give the other set away.  I'm just not sure how.  Any ideas?  I'm thinking if you leave a comment about the cards you'll be entered to win.  If you buy one set of cards, you'll also be entered to win.  Hows that sound?
