Christmas Day 2009

I hadn't posted any pics of my Christmas tree yet so here it is!  Here it is with the lights on in the livingroom.  It's still hard to see but the ornaments are silver, purple and a greenish/blue.

And here it is with the lights off!

Anyway...today is Christmas day.  It kind of stinks that we spend at least a month getting ready for today and then it's over so quickly.  But still...it was a nice, relaxing day.  Mom is pretty sick this year.  Bronchitus.  And because of the medicine, she was not feeling well at all today.  But that's ok.  I went over last night after church.  We got a few hours of laughing in before she started feeling pretty rough again.  I played with Snoodles and got her all worked up too!  We both got yelled at!  Then I spent the night.  I couldn't imagine being anywhere else on Christmas Eve even if I am 31 and know where the gifts really come from (and usually know what they are).

We all slept in a little today and opened gifts a little later than normal...mainly just to let Mom rest.  I think Snoodles was the most anxious...cause she knew there were treats in the house that belonged to her!  She's a little spoiled!  I helped Mom cook dinner again this year.  One of these years I may attempt the ham...but for now, I'll leave that to the expert!  Mom wasn't really able to eat but Dad and I enjoyed it.  Plus Mom ate a little this evening.  I even took my normal Christmas nap in my old room!  We all slept for a little bit.  I didn't head home til later this evening.  I played my new Mario Bros game...so much fun and now I'm just relaxing on the couch watching tv.  After blogging, I think I'll pop a movie in and just enjoy the last of the nice, relaxing evening.

Oh, and I definitely can't forget the highlight of the holiday for me.  I went to church last night and the most adorable 6 year old in the world decided he wanted to sit on my lap for the service.  Keagen is probably getting too old to snuggle up to everyone and sit on laps but he chose to spend the majority of the service on my lap.  And when he wasn't on my lap, he was leaning against me all snuggled up.  And Kale of course kept coming and going.  He's just too busy to stay in one place for too long!  :-)  And before the night was over, I got my hands on Kiah.  Doesn't get any better than that...

I pray that you all had a wonderful Christmas surrounded by the ones you love!!!
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Year, New Me

New year, new me. Who says that? Ok, a lot of people so no offense if you’re one of them.  But I like me. Sure, I’m not perfect. But I don’t want to really change all of me.  So no silly quote like that for me! It is hard to believe that 2019 is here. The older I get, the quicker time flies by.  I do remember being told that when I was a teenager.  Those people were so right.  It feels like yesterday that I was sitting in my quiet house while Johanna was off with friends celebrating the start of 2018.  But that was a year ago.  Today, I’m still sitting in my quiet house but that’s because Karyna is just waking up for the day.   A few years ago, I used to work on videos that would highlight my year.  I loved doing them but they took time.  And that’s time that I don’t have as much of these days.  It’s hard to go through a year of pictures and videos.  Do you know how many pictures I take a year?  My goodness!...

Friday Follow

How come when it's time to do the Friday Follow, I have nothing interesting to say??? Hmmmm...it's been a long week.  Days where things just didn't make sense.  Lots I need to process.  It's possible that all of my thinking will lead to a great post this weekend.  But for now, I just hope all of you new visitors find something interesting to read from other posts here.  I plan to spend this rainy weekend doing some thinking, relaxing, watching movies and checking out new blogs!  Sounds like a good way to spend the weekend, right?  :-)  Thanks for stopping by!

New Cards!!!

So between resting this weekend (cause my allergies kicked my butt...especially yesterday), I worked on making some cards.  It's been SO long since I've actually spent time doing something like this and I LOVE making cards!  So I wanted to share them with you.  I made 20 cards total.  2 each of 10 designs.  So now there's two sets of friendship cards.  I think I'm going to try to sell one set.  Then I think give the other set away.  I'm just not sure how.  Any ideas?  I'm thinking if you leave a comment about the cards you'll be entered to win.  If you buy one set of cards, you'll also be entered to win.  Hows that sound?
