I found this little meme over at http://thepapermama.com/ and decided to do both!  I'm going to do the one she answered and then the one where she asked the questions.  I haven't done a meme in forever and decided it would give me something to write about today!


1. If you HAD to change your name, what would you change it to?
I'm not sure I'd change my name.  I would have when I was a kid.  I hated Deidra.  It bothered me when people couldn't get it right.  But that doesn't bother me anymore.  There aren't many Deidra's out there and I like it!
2. Are you a collector of anything?
Dust!  Does that count????
3. What is your first thought when you wake up?
You have got to be kidding me.
4. Do you prefer sweet or salty foods?
Both really.  
5. Name one thing you miss about being a kid.
No bills!!!  :-)  Playing silly games.  Being carefree!
6. Are you a morning or night person?
Night.  I could stay up all night if it wasn't for this full time job!
7. List 5 items on your life’s to-do list:
- Adopt
- Write a book
- Become a photographer
- Continue working with kids
- Enjoy life
8. Share one thing that people may not know about you.
Ummm...I act like a rock star in my car when I'm singing!
9. What is your all time favorite song, movie, and book?
- Favorite movie: of all time, it's a tie between Armegeddon and Pretty Woman.  
- Favorite song:  OK.  This one is tougher.  Right now, it's a tie between Hurricane by Jimmy Needham and Oceans by Hillsong
- Favorite book: Say Goodnight, Gracie is my favorite book of all time.  Lately, probably Divergent.
10. Do you have any hidden talents?
I like to think I can sing!
11. Are you a really clean or super messy person?
I'm definitely right in the middle.  I don't like dirt but I don't mind some mess.

1. Are you a cat or dog person? Or, bird person?
Dog!!  I love my doggies!
2. What was your favorite food as a kid? Is it the same, or has it changed as an adult?
Pizza.  Which is the same now!
3. What is your favorite hobby?
Oh gosh. I have to pick a favorite?  Either photography or writing.  I like being crafty though too.  
4. If you HAD to move to a different state (or country) where would it be?
Tennessee...but I like where I am.  
5. Are you a winter or summer person?
NEITHER.  I like spring or fall.  If I had to pick, I'd pick winter.  Ugh.
6. What makes you happy?
Life!  
7. What is the weirdest question you’ve ever been asked?
I don't know...
8. If you had to go on an adventure, with elves, dwarves, or hobbits, who would you take and why?
Elves.  I'm assuming they'd lead me to Santa!
9. You are at a rural retreat lodge somewhere deep in Wisconsin or Canada. You are approached by a taxidermist who hands you a stuffed badger and asks you to put it in your lap. What do you do next (question found here)?
Try not to be grossed out....
10. What was your first job?
Babysitting.  First one I can claim on taxes, I worked at a party center in a local grocery store.  
11. What is your favorite utensil?
Fork!

New Year, New Me

New year, new me. Who says that? Ok, a lot of people so no offense if you’re one of them.  But I like me. Sure, I’m not perfect. But I don’t want to really change all of me.  So no silly quote like that for me! It is hard to believe that 2019 is here. The older I get, the quicker time flies by.  I do remember being told that when I was a teenager.  Those people were so right.  It feels like yesterday that I was sitting in my quiet house while Johanna was off with friends celebrating the start of 2018.  But that was a year ago.  Today, I’m still sitting in my quiet house but that’s because Karyna is just waking up for the day.   A few years ago, I used to work on videos that would highlight my year.  I loved doing them but they took time.  And that’s time that I don’t have as much of these days.  It’s hard to go through a year of pictures and videos.  Do you know how many pictures I take a year?  My goodness!...

Lots of Names

Well, this is my fourth Friday in my apartment!!! It really does feel like home for the most part!!! Tera helped me...wait...I take that back. Tera MOVED my swing and table from mom and dad's a few weeks ago and so that is now on my deck! I love it!! Although, I have to admit that I haven't been home too much to enjoy it but at least I know it's there. Hopefully I'll get the chance to relax on my swing this weekend. I set my smoke alarm off the other night! That was funny! I was cooking a chicken patty and some fries in the oven. All of a sudden I hear this loud beeping! Of course once I realized it was the smoke alarm, I ran into the kitchen. Everything was good in there! Food was cooking just fine! Apparently it just got too hot in here for the smoke alarm. The funny part though is me standing on the chair trying to figure out why the alarm won't quit chirping every 45 seconds...even after I took out the battery!
