Man, this place is even more gorgeous in the sunlight! I woke up this morning and I almost immediately made my way to the deck. What a view. I'm used to waking up and seeing the street! It's almost like the sun shines different here, ya know?
I got a manicure today! So relaxing! I've got a color on my nails I doubt I would have ever picked for myself, but I like it! It's just so nice to be pampered sometimes. And Stacy got her hair cut. It looks super cute in the back!!
After a little pampering, we did some grocery shopping...which really is pampering...just in a different form! :-)
I spent the afternoon around the house with Ann, Steve and a sleeping Stella. Todd and Stacy went to the cabana to do some swimming. My goal was to get caught up on journaling and do some reading. But something so much cooloer happened!
Earlier in the day, Stacy had gone outside and comes running back to the door saying she had just seen a manatee so we all went rushing outside (cameras in hand). No manatee.
But as I was heading to the kitchen later this afternoon, Ann quietly (cause Stella is still asleep at this point) yelled to me that it was back out! There were people across the channel on their side with a hose and the manatee was drinking from it! So Ann drove me to the other side and we hurried to see it. So cool. I posted some pics but I have WAY more. They look nothing like the ones you see at the zoo. He (I really don't know which it was but we'll go with he) looked rough. There were scars on him. But he was still beautiful!
Ann drove me around the neighborhood. I got to see the house that Nick Carter (from the Backstreet Boys) used to live in growing up before his parents divorced. So cool! I also got to drive by the place were Toodd and Stacy got married - Sunset Beach. We're planning to go at sunset one night while we're here. Looked beautiful just from where we were.
By time we got back home, the manatee was on our side...right by our deck! And Steve is there just "watering it" so I took some more pictures. Ann touched it and she said it felt like a tire that needed to be replaced!
It really was amazing. Stacy said she's been here a ton to see her parents and has only ever seen a manatee one other time. Isn't that so cool that while I'm here...my 1st day of seeing things...and I get to see one????
We ate at a place called The Island tonight. It's really just a large Tiki bar! SO COOL! I hope you check out my pics so you can see the view from our table. Doesn't get much better than that!
Well, my eyes are about to close on their own. No reading for me tonight!
